These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of QbitSeed’s API, dashboard, and website (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, generating an API key, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you’re using the Service on behalf of an organization, you’re confirming you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” refers to it as well as you personally.
QbitSeed is based in Alberta, Canada. Your agreement is with an entity operating as “QbitSeed.” Questions about who you’re contracting with can be directed to hello@qbitseed.com.
QbitSeed provides cryptographic quantum entropy — random data sourced from real quantum hardware (via IBM Quantum Cloud) — delivered through an API, on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Every response ships with a cryptographically signed certificate that can be independently verified.
When genuine quantum-sourced entropy isn’t available at the moment of a request, the Service automatically fails over to a certified classical random number generator. We label which source produced a given response honestly, every time — classical output is never presented as quantum-sourced.
API keys are issued through the dashboard and shown to you exactly once, at creation. We do not retain the ability to show you a previously issued key again. Keys can be revoked at any time from the dashboard; a revoked key stops working immediately.
You are solely responsible for safeguarding your active API keys. This includes keeping keys out of client-side code, public repositories, and logs, and rotating or revoking a key immediately if you suspect it has been exposed. QbitSeed is not liable for unauthorized access to data, or for any other consequence, resulting from a compromised, leaked, or improperly secured API key on your end. If you believe a key has been compromised, revoke it immediately and contact us.
You agree not to:
QbitSeed is commonly used by customers in regulated or compliance-sensitive industries — for example, iGaming and online gaming, cryptography, and blockchain applications.
QbitSeed provides genuinely quantum-sourced randomness and a verifiable certificate of origin for each response. We do not certify, audit, or warrant that your product, service, or use of our output satisfies any specific regulatory standard (including, without limitation, GLI-19, NIST SP 800-90A/B, ETSI, or any gaming license requirement). You are solely responsible for determining whether the Service is fit for your regulatory or compliance needs, and for obtaining your own certifications.
Each batch of random output is tied to a signed certificate recording its source (a real quantum job ID, or an honestly labeled classical failover) and can be verified through the Service’s public verification endpoint. For compliance and audit purposes, certificate and audit-log records are retained for seven years, including after an account is closed.
We work to keep the Service reliable, but at this stage we do not offer a formal uptime service-level agreement (SLA). The Service is provided on a best-effort basis and may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, upstream quantum-provider outages, or unforeseen issues.
QbitSeed and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including its software, API design, dashboard, certificate format, and trademarks. You retain all rights to the random output and certificates you receive, and may use them in your own products.
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time by contacting hello@qbitseed.com. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or use the Service in a way that creates legal or security risk for us or others. On termination, your API keys are revoked; certificate and audit records may be retained as described in Section 7.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We test our entropy output against recognized statistical randomness batteries, but we do not warrant that the Service will meet the requirements of every specific regulatory or certification regime, or that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, QbitSeed’s total liability arising out of or relating to the Service — for any and all claims in aggregate — will not exceed the amount you actually paid QbitSeed in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
QbitSeed will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, arising from or related to production service downtime, delayed or unavailable random number delivery, or any failure, error, or degradation in the randomness, format, or timing of output — even if QbitSeed has been advised of the possibility of such damages, and even if a remedy fails its essential purpose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so parts of this limitation may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold QbitSeed harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law, your violation of a third party’s rights, or unauthorized use of the Service resulting from your failure to safeguard your API keys.
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service, are governed exclusively by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Alberta for any dispute not subject to mandatory arbitration or other required forum.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or through the dashboard. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to hello@qbitseed.com. See also our Privacy Policy.
